Devics on tour with the Black Heart Procession this summer!
The cinematic, beautifully lush sound of Los Angeles duo Devics is one of few peers and nor is it easily paired. However, the equally dark and eerily captivating Black Heart Procession has hand-picked Devics for what promises to be a perfectly matched bill of melodic lilt and dark portents. The tour commences on July 21st in Tucson, AZ, taking the bands across the U.S. and north into Canada before winding up in mid-August with shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Devics is vocalist Sara Lov and multi-instrumentalist/occasional singer Dustin O'Halloran. The duo formed in Los Angeles in the mid-90s, but later found a home in Italy after signing to the UK label, Bella Union (owned by ex-Cocteau Twin Simon Raymonde.) Its sophomore 2001 album My Beautiful Sinking Ship was a hit in Europe that led to a series of tours taking Devics across Western Europe, through the Eastern Bloc and into Russia. Its 2003 album The Stars at Saint Andrea proved another major success in Europe -- earning comparisons to Mazzy Star, PJ Harvey and Portishead – while boosting the band’s underground cult status in the states.
Devics released its fourth album Push the Heart on Filter Recordings (the label owned and operated by the trendsetting magazine) in the U.S. on March 7th of this year and is determined to gain a foothold in its native country. Joining forces with Touch & Go artists the Black Heart Procession – whose vocalist/guitarist/saw-player Pall Jenkins has also contributed to the band’s recordings and live performances – Devics is poised to expand its underground following stateside.

Filter US Recordings is thrilled to announce the signing of the Los Angeles and sometimes Italian based band Devics for the release of their next full length album "Push The Heart". The album will be released simultaneously in Europe through Simon Raymonde's (Cocteau Twins) Bella Union imprint who have released the band's previous 2 CDs. Devics is vocalist Sara Lov and multi-instrumentalist and sometime singer Dustin O'Halloran, a musical duo from Los Angeles who found a home in Italy after touring there in 2000.
With their fan base centered squarely across the Atlantic, Lov and O'Halloran sequestered themselves in the Italian countryside south of Bologna in a cobwebbed farmhouse a friendly promoter had lent them, O'Halloran and Lov began writing and recording music for their newest release. The result, an LP of mesmerizing beauty entitled "Push The Heart".
Fans can expect "Push the Heart" to be released on Filter US Recordings in March 7th, 2006 and available earlier digitally as an iTunes exclusive.
